Caves of Campanet

The caves of Campanet, which were discovered in
1945 by worker digging a well.
The caves have an average depth of 50 m, an area
of some 3,200 sq.mts, and an open space area of
16,000 sq.mts., the touring length is 400 mts.
They contain several tiny lakes, and are renowned
for the fineness and whiteness of its formations,
such as in the so-called Sala Romàntica
or Romantic Chamber, this chamber is the largest
in the cave being 50m across and 10m high, other
areas are:- Capella de la Verge, Els Enamorats,
Sala del Llac, Castell de les Fades, Sala de la
Palma, Cascada Sonora, l'Elefant Blanc and more.
The caves are open Apr-Sep daily 10-19hrs and
from Oct-Mar daily 10-18hrs.
